40th Student Academy Awards with Host Bob Saget
The 40th Student Academy Awards is always a bright spot on the Academy's calendar! It not only gives students the opportunity to share their
works in a grand scale; but, it also affords them awards, recognition, opportunities and more. In fact, many of the student
participants and winners go on to rewarding careers in both Hollywood and the entertainment industry.
The night's host, Bob Saget, was in fact a Student Academy Awards Winner! As he moderated, he skillfully (and comically) blended his own experiences
with examples of other Hollywood Greats that had their start in this prestigious contest. Such names as John Lasseter, Robert Zemeckis, Pete Docter, Lauren Lazin, Ken Kwapis and Todd Holland.
The Student Academy Awards have five categories in which students participate to compete for either a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal. One key factor in this competition is that before the ceremony,
students are afforded the opportunity to meet and mingle with many different Academy and Hollywood luminaries which can have quite an impact in each student's future.
The night was pleasantly filled with clips from past winners and current participants, excitement from the students up for wins, and Bob Saget's superb comedic timing. A definite event to explore for students who envision
themselves in the entertainment industry, you can check out more by visiting the Academy's page on the matter here.
